NEW POLICY REGARDING MASKS AND OTHER COVID-RELATED PRACTICES
Effective May 19, In line with current and proposed changes to CDC, state and local guidance, the Company is making the following changes to our COVID prevention practices, effective immediately:
1. Fully vaccinated employees no longer need to wear masks indoors or outdoors. Although we encourage vaccinated employees to continue to social distance and practice good hygiene (including washing hands and covering up when sneezing) as much as possible, mask wearing for fully vaccinated employees is no longer required.*An employee is considered "fully vaccinated" 14 days after their second shot (for Moderna and Pfizer) or 14 days after their first shot (J&J).
2. Employees who have received a vaccine but have not reached full vaccination must continue to social distance and wear masks indoors until 14 days after their second shot (for Moderna or Pfizer) or first shot (J&J).
3. Employees who have not received any vaccine must continue to social distance and wear masks indoors at all times. The only exception is for unvaccinated office employees who are working by themselves away from other workers (e.g. alone in an office). All unvaccinated shop or office employees who enter the shop area must remain masked at all times.
4. Any employee (including temporary employees) who wishes to be relieved of mask requirements based on their vaccination status, must be prepared to show proof of such status to the Company.
5. Any employee who feels more comfortable continuing to wear a mask even if not required, will be encouraged and permitted to do so.
6. All visitors, including customers, vendors, and anyone else entering Company property, must remain masked at all times.
7. The Company will continue to provide masks for anyone who wants or needs one.
The Company continues to believe that the best way to protect yourself and your fellow workers from COVID-19 is to follow the advice of health care experts across the country by getting vaccinated – if you have any questions or concerns about the vaccine, we urge you to speak to your personal physician or other trustworthy medical experts.
The Company will continue to update this policy as necessary consistent with CDC, state and local laws. Please speak to HR or the Safety Department if you have any questions about COVID-19 in the workplace and/or these updated rules.
* Note that employees with certain medical conditions such as a compromised immune system, may remain at higher risk of COVID-19 even after vaccination, and such employees should consult with their personal physicians to determine whether it is safe for them to stop wearing masks.
